COLLEGE OF POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

The College of Postgraduate Studies is the coordinating unit of all the Postgraduate Programmes of the University. The officers of the College include the Provost, Deputy Provosts, the Director and a host of administrative and technical staff.

The College of Postgraduate Studies shall be responsible to the Senate for the day-to-day administration and coordination of all the academic and professional postgraduate programmes, usually leading to the award of Postgraduate diplomas, Masters degrees (Academic and Professional) MPhil and Doctorate degrees.

 

This is to welcome All Returning and newly admitted students into postgraduate programmes of Bayero University, Kano (BUK). Postgraduate (PG) programmes have been offered and awarded by various Departments since 1977 when Bayero University became full pledge university. Prior to that, PG programmes were awarded by Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, when BUK was then a College of ABU. The expansion of Departments in BUK also witnessed expansion in PG programmes over the years. As at 2024/2025 session, there are Six Hundred and Seventy Eight (674) PG programmes in BUK.
